Pomodoro & Habit Tracking

Aino LifeOS has a built-in Pomodoro timer and habit tracking features. This guide shows how to use them to manage your time and track habits.

Using the Pomodoro Timer

Start a Pomodoro

  1. Open the task inbox and select a task to focus on
  2. Click the Pomodoro button next to the task
  3. The timer starts counting down (default 25 minutes)
  4. Focus on your work until the timer ends
  5. A chime signals the start of break time

Work-Break Rhythm

The Pomodoro timer automatically alternates between work and breaks:

PhaseDurationDescription
Work25 minFocus on one thing
Short break5 minStand up and stretch
Long break15 minAfter every 4 pomodoros

A sound alert and optional desktop notification play when each phase ends.

Customize Pomodoro Settings

Customize in Settings:

Short break5 minRegular break time
Long break15 minBreak after consecutive work
Long break interval4Pomodoros before long break
Auto-startOffAuto-start next pomodoro

View Pomodoro Records

This is the biggest difference between Aino LifeOS's Pomodoro and standalone apps — completed pomodoros are automatically recorded in your daily notes:

  • Start and end times
  • Associated task name
  • Focus duration

Review your daily focus history in your daily notes.

Tip

The core of the Pomodoro Technique isn't "work for 25 minutes" — it's "do only one thing for those 25 minutes." Select a task from the task inbox first, then start the timer.

Tracking Habits

Record Habit Completion

Record habit completion in your daily notes using a specific format. Aino LifeOS automatically recognizes and tallies them.

For example, in your daily note:

- [x] Exercise 30 minutes
- [x] Read 20 pages
- [ ] Meditate 10 minutes

View the Habit Panel

Open the habit tracking panel with two display modes:

Card mode — One card per habit showing:

  • Completion percentage
  • Consecutive days completed
  • Whether completed today

List mode — Compact list view, suitable when you have many habits.
